책상

 

 

봄방학이 시작된 날이었다.

어머니는 감기가 폐렴으로 번지는 바람에 병원에 입원해 있었다.

아버지는 그녀를 데리고 출근했다.

그때까지도 그녀는 아버지가 멋진 사무실에 앉아, 만년필로 결재서류에 사인만 하는 사장님인 줄 알았다.

물건 상자가 천정까지 쌓여 있고, 퀴퀴한 냄새가 나고, 한 귀퉁이에 책상 두 개가 놓인 창고가 아버지의 회사일 거라고는 상상도 하지 못했다.

책상 하나는 아버지 것, 다른 하나는 최 상사 아저씨의 것이었다.

It was the day the spring vacation began.

My mother was hospitalized because the cold spread to pneumonia.

My father took her to work.

Even then, she thought her father was a boss sitting in a nice office and signing documents with a fountain pen.

I never imagined that the warehouse with the item boxes are stacked up to the ceiling, smelled stale, and two desks at one corner would be my father's company.

One desk belonged to my father, and the other belonged to my boss Choi.
